Sensex recovers, down 41pts

The Sensex opened with a negative gap of 24 points at 11,946, and soon tumbled to a low of 11,834.

The index has recouped most of its losses and is now down 41 points at 11,929.

HDFC Bank has slipped 1.7% to Rs 865. Bharti Airtel and ICICI Bank have dropped nearly 1.5% each to Rs 433 and Rs 638, respectively.

HLL and Cipla are down over 1% each at Rs 244 and Rs 251, respectively.

HDFC, BHEL and TCS are the other prominent losers.
