Sensex recovers, down 54pts; Infosys up 4%

The Sensex has recovered smartly from the day's low of 15,573, and is now down 54 points at 15,754.

The NSE Nifty is down 13 points at 4,765.

Infosys and TCS have surged over 4% each to Rs 1,483 and Rs 947, respectively. Wipro has rallied 3% to Rs 419, and Satyam has moved up 2.7% to Rs 445.

Ranbaxy has gained 3% at Rs 457. Hindustan Unilever is up over 1% at Rs 238.

HDFC has plunged 3.3% to Rs 2,302. HDFC Bank has shed 2.5% at Rs 1,294.

Hindalco and Grasim have slipped around 1.5% each to Rs 174 and Rs 2,516, respectively.

Tata Steel, Reliance, Tata Motors and Reliance Energy are down over 1% each to Rs 684, Rs 2,523, Rs 616 and Rs 1,269, respectively.
