Sensex recovers, down 91pts; breadth -ve

The Sensex has recovered smartly from the day's low of 19,425, and is now down 91 points at 19,610.

HDFC Bank has slipped over 2% to Rs 1,611. Reliance and BHEL have dropped around 1.5% each to Rs 2,948 and Rs 2,315, respectively.

Larsen & Toubro and DLF have shed 1.3% each at Rs 4,021 and Rs 1,072, respectively.

Wipro, Satyam and HDFC have declined over 1% each to Rs 455, Rs 368 and Rs 2,819, respectively.

Maruti, Hindalco and Cipla are also down around 1% each at Rs 858, Rs 189 and Rs 207, respectively.

Reliance Energy and ACC have moved up 1.5% each to Rs 2,248 and Rs 873, respectively.

Ranbaxy, Bajaj Auto and NTPC have gained 1.3% each at Rs 373, Rs 2,475 and Rs 259, respectively.

Grasim, Ambuja Cements and ICICI Bank are up over 1% each at Rs 3,345, Rs 132 and Rs 1,336, respectively.

The market breadth is fairly negative - out of 2,648 stocks traded so far, 1,601 have declined, 997 have advanced and 50 are unchanged.
