Sensex recovers from day's low; up 98pts

The Sensex after moving sideways for quite some time, slipped into red at 14,993. However the index recovered instantly and is now 98 points higher at 15,107.

The BSE IT, Auto and Metal indices are up 2% each.

Tata Power has soared 3.5% to Rs 1,077. Hindalco and Infosys have added nearly 3% each to Rs 93 and Rs 1,672, respectively.

Mahindra & Mahindra and ICICI Bank gained over 2% each at Rs 706 and Rs 749, respectively.

Grasim, Sun Pharma, Sterlite and Maruti advanced over 1.5% each at Rs 2,411, Rs 1,329, Rs 671 and Rs 1,091, respectively.

BHEL, Wipro and Reliance Communications are up 1% each.

 

ITC has slipped 6% to Rs 191. Reliance Infrastructures has declined 2% to Rs 1,248.

SBI is down 1% at Rs 1,852.

The market breadth is positive, out of 2,453 shares traded on the BSE, 1,581 have advanced and 823 have declined so far on the BSE.
