Sensex recovers; Maruti gains 2%

The Sensex has recovered smartly from the day's low of 14,504, and is now down marginally (20 points) at 14,636.

The NSE Nifty is down 10 points at 4,404.

TCS and HDFC have shed around 2% each at Rs 821 and Rs 2,355, respectively.

ONGC and Reliance have slipped over 1.5% each to Rs 980 and Rs 2,263, respectively.

BHEL and Sterlite are down over 1% each at Rs 1,735 and Rs 626, respecively.

Maruti has rallied 2% to Rs 572. Tata Power and Grasim have gained 1.7% each at Rs 1,136 and Rs 1,866, respectively.

Satyam and Ranbaxy have moved up over 1.5% each to Rs 397 and Rs 517, respectively.

 

Infosys and Jaiprakash Associates have advanced 1.3% each to Rs 1,662 and Rs 173, respectively.

ACC and Tata Steel are up over 1% each at Rs 583 and Rs 688, respectively.

Out of 2,561 stocks traded so far, 1,723 have moved up, 775 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
