Sensex recovers, now down 117pts

After tumbling to an intra-day low of 11,345, the Sensex is now down 117 points at 11,718.

The index has now recovered and is down 160 points at 11,675.

Cipla has slumped 4.8% to Rs 248. HDFC Bank has dropped 3.8% to Rs 792.

Hindalco and Wipro has declined 3% each to Rs 210 and Rs 528, respectively.

HDFC, BHEL, Grasim, Tata Motors, Satyam and Ranbaxy are the other prominent losers.

ACC is the sole gainer among the Sensex stocks.
