Sensex recovers partially, down 252pts

The Sensex has recovered partially from the day's low of 18,183, and is now down 252 points at 18,350.

NTPC has tumbled 6.5% to Rs 224, and DLF has slumped 6% to Rs 818.

ONGC and Reliance Energy have plunged over 4.5% each to Rs 1,138 and Rs 1,612, respectively.

HDFC, Larsen & Toubro and Tata Steel have dropped over 3% each to Rs 2,515, Rs 3,979 and Rs 798, repsectively.

Bharti Airtel has shed 2.5% at Rs 877. Reliance Communications and BHEL have slipped nearly 2% each to Rs 669 and Rs 2,442, respectively.

SBI has surged 3.5% to Rs 2,231. Hindalco has rallied 2% to Rs 188.

Bajaj Auto has advanced over 1% to Rs 2,450.

Out of 2,735 stocks traded so far, 2,160 have declined, 536 have advanced and 39 are unchanged.
