Sensex recovers partially, down 280pts

The Sensex has recovered partially from the day's low of 9,377, and is now down 280 points at 9,560.

DLF has slumped 9.5% to Rs 242, and Jaiprakash Associates has tumbled over 9% to Rs 77. Reliance Infrastructure has shed 8.6% at Rs 529.

ICICI Bank has plunged 7.8% to Rs 400. Hindalco has slipped over 3% to Rs 56.

Sterlite, SBI and Tata Motors have slipped over 5% each to Rs 235, Rs 1,160 and Rs 148, respectively.

Bharti Airtel, Mahindra & Mahindra and Hindustan Unilever dropped nearly 5% each to Rs 626, Rs 340 and Rs 235, respectively.

 

Reliance, Larsen & Toubro and ONGC are down around 4% each to Rs 1,158, Rs 829 and Rs 706, respectively.

NTPC has moved up 1.4% to Rs 154, and TCS has added 1% to Rs 532.

The market breadth is negative - out of 2,525 stocks traded so far, 1,725 have declined, 712 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
