Sensex recovers partially, down 34pts

The Sensex has recovered most of its early losses and is now down 34 points at 11,899. The index had touched a low of 11823 in the opening trades.

HDFC Bank has slipped 1.5% to Rs 850. Hero Honda and Satyam are the other significant losers.

Bharti Airtel, Larsen & Toubro, Hindalco and Maruti are the notable gainers among the Sensex stocks.
