Sensex recovers partially, down 396pts

The Sensex has recovered partially from the day's low of 15,362, and is now down 396 points at 15,580.

The NSE Nifty is down 80 points at 4,692.

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has slumped 10.3% to Rs 2,680, and Reliance Energy (REL) has plunged 8.5% to Rs 1,163.

BHEL and Bajaj Auto have tumbled around 6% each to Rs 1,899 and Rs 1,779, respectively.

Maruti and ICICI Bank have dropped around 4% each to Rs 894 and Rs 857, respectively.

HDFC Bank and Hindalco have slipped around 3.5% each to Rs 1,240 and Rs 189, respectively.

Reliance and Reliance Communications have declined 3% each to Rs 2,178 and Rs 528, respectively.

Satyam, DLF and HDFC are down nearly 3% each to Rs 412, Rs 639 and Rs 2,555, respectively.

Bharti Airtel and Mahindra & Mahindra have advanced 1.5% each to Rs 762 and Rs 676, respectively.

ONGC and ITC are up 1% each at Rs 965 and Rs 192, respectively.

Out of 2,473 stocks traded so far, 2,247 have declined, 203 have advanced and 23 are unchanged.
