Sensex recovers partially, down 56pts

The Sensex has recovered partially from the day's low of 15,467, and is now down 56 points at 15,548.

Bharti Airtel has plunged 2.5% to Rs 810.

TCS has shed 2% to Rs 1,003. Satyam has slipped 1.6% to Rs 424, and Infosys has declined 1% to Rs 1,813.

NTPC has tumbled nearly 2% to Rs 182. Reliance Communications has dropped 1.5% to Rs 535.

ICICI Bank and HDFC are down 1% each at Rs 897 and Rs 2,193, respectively.

Reliance Energy has surged 3% to Rs 909. Maruti has advanced over 1% to Rs 876.

Out of 2,766 stocks traded so far, 1,395 have declined, 1,316 have advanced and 55 are unchanged.
