Sensex recovers partially, down 75pts

The Sensex had slipped to a low of 17,138, but has recovered and is now down 75 points at 17,274.

The NSE Nifty is down 13 points at 5,098.

Bajaj Auto has tumbled over 4% to Rs 2,199. HDFC Bank has plunged 3.7% to Rs 1,421.

Mahindra & Mahindra and ICICI Bank have slumped nearly 3% each to Rs 610 and Rs 1,067, respectively.

Hindalco and Tata Steel have dropped over 2% each to Rs 188 and Rs 787, respectively. SBI has shed 1.8% at Rs 2,077.

Satyam has surged 2% to Rs 448, and Wipro has gained 1.5% at Rs 429.

Infosys and ONGC are up 1% each at Rs 1,595 and Rs 1,011, respectively.
