Sensex recovers partially, now down 178pts

The Sensex has recovered some of its losses and is now down 178 points at 9632.

Tata Steel, HDFC and Grasim have declined around 4.5% each to Rs 435, Rs 1,154 and Rs 1,699, respectively.

Reliance Communication Ventures (RCoVL) has dropped 3.7% to Rs 213. HLL is down over 3% at Rs 201.

Tata Motors and ICICI Bank have slipped nearly 3% each to Rs 734 and Rs 486, respectively.

Out of 2,182 stocks traded so far, 1,482 have declined, 648 have advanced and 52 are unchanged.
