Sensex recovers partially; Reliance gains 2%

The Sensex has recovered partially from the day's low of 8,634, and is now down 134 points at 8,680.

Jaiprakash Associates and Mahindra & Mahindra have slumped over 7% each to Rs 61 and Rs 267, respectively.

Tata Steel has plunged nearly 5% to Rs 171. SBI has shed 4% at Rs 1,045.

Reliance Communications and Sun Pharma have dropped over 3% each to Rs 162 and Rs 1,068, respectivley.

BHEL has slipped nearly 3% to Rs 1,329. Larsen & Toubro, Tata Power, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank and Hindalco are down around 2.5% each.

Reliance and Tata Motors have gained 2.3% each at Rs 1,160 and Rs 136, respectively.

 

The market breadth is fairly negative - out of 2,395 stocks traded so far, 1,615 have declined, 676 have advanced and 104 are unchanged.
