Sensex recovers partially; SBI, HDFC Bank in red

The Sensex opened a tad (two points) higher at 9,637, thereafter slipped into red to a low of 9,529. The index has recovered partially from the day's low and is now down 79 points at 9,555.

DLF has surged over 4% to Rs 167. Tata Motors has moved up 2.7% to Rs 142.

Mahindra & Mahindra has gained 2.3% to Rs 328. Grasim has added nearly 2% to Rs 1,392.

Maruti and Jaiprakash Associates are up around 1.5% each to Rs 639 and Rs 77, respectively.

HDFC Bank has plunged 3% to Rs 918, and SBI has shed 2% at Rs 1,169.

 

Sterlite and Bharti Airtel have dropped 1.7% each to Rs 271 and Rs 642, respectively.

ACC has slipped 1.4% to Rs 570. BHEL, ICICI Bank, Ranbaxy, ONGC and Reliance are down around 1% each.
