Sensex recovers, up 11 pts

The Sensex has shrugged off its weak trends on buying at lower levels in select tech, banking, cement and other old economy stocks. It is now up 11 points at 6,358, while the Nifty is down a point at 1,966.

Wipro is trading firm with a gain of 1.95% (Rs 13) at Rs 657, while Satyam has advanced 2.10% (Rs 8) to Rs 413. Infosys, however, has trimmed its losses to Rs 1,992 - down Rs 6.

ICICI Bank is up a per cent (Rs 4) at Rs 400, and SBI is up Rs 3 at Rs 623.

ITC and HLL are up a rupee each at Rs 1,394 and Rs 133, respectively. Reliance, however, is subdued with a per cent loss (Rs 4) at Rs 543.

Grasim, Gujarat Ambuja and ACC are unchanged with a per cent gain each at Rs 1,212 (up Rs 13), Rs 437 (up Rs 3) and Rs 390 (up Rs 4), respectively.

L&T at Rs 997 (up Rs 4) and Tisco at Rs 364 (up Rs 2) are trading with steady gains.

Hero Honda is up Rs 3 at Rs 509. While Maruti is down a per cent (Rs 4) at Rs 435, Tata Motors is marginally down at Rs 359.

Dr. Reddy's has minimised its losses to Rs 688 - down Rs 14 or 2%. Ranbaxy and Cipla are down a rupee each at Rs 924 and Rs 243, respectively.
