The Sensex resumed with a six points gain at 6,245, and surged to an early high of 6,294 on impressive gains in select old and new economy stocks. It is now up 46 points at 6,285. The Nifty has gained 18 points over the yesterday's close at 1,973. Reliance has commenced with a per cent gain (Rs 4) at Rs 511. While HLL is up a rupee at Rs 153, ITC has eased in early trades and is down a per cent (Rs 14) at Rs 1,372. Infosys has clocked a per cent gain (Rs 16) to Rs 1,967. While Wipro is up Rs 3 at Rs 678, Satyam is marginally down at Rs 389. ONGC is up a per cent (Rs 5) at Rs 794. SBI has gained 1.11% (Rs 6) to Rs 588. While ICICI Bank is up a per cent (Rs 3) at Rs 341, HDFC Bank is trading lower by Rs 3 at Rs 530. While Bharti has logged 1.79% gains (Rs 4) to Rs 213 in early trades, L&T is up 1.40% (Rs 13) at Rs 923. Ranbaxy has firmed up 2.73% (Rs 28) to Rs 1,050. Other pharma pivotals are up with modest gains. Grasim has gained 1.49% (Rs 19) to Rs 1,312. Other cement majors have commenced with steady gains. |
