The Sensex is curently rangebound at 6716, moving in a narrow range of 76 to 85 points, sustaining the upside, fuelled by the strong buying support in tech and banking counters. Most of the scrips on the BSE 200 have registered a gain of atleast a per cent. The Nifty is currently up by a percent at 2108. The market mover is the tech major, Infosys which has flared up 3%(up Rs 65) to 2,168. Wipro too has advanced 3% (Rs 18) to Rs 713. Bharti and VSNL have climbed up 3% to Rs 215(up Rs 6) and Rs 226 (up Rs 7), rspectively. Although Maruti is marginally lower at Rs 498, Hero Honda leapt by 2% to Rs 559, while M&M and Tata Motors gained a per cent at Rs 571 (up Rs 4) and Rs 509 (up Rs 5). While Tisco gained 2% Rs 405 both L&T and Hindalco scaled up by a per cent to Rs 1,001(up Rs 10) and Rs 1,380 (up Rs 14) respectively. Among the banking pivotals, SBI has spurted 3% ( up Rs 9) to Rs 673, while ICICI Bank has notched up by a per cent to Rs 380 (up Rs 5). HLL has plumented by a rupee to Rs 154, while Tata Power is margianlly lower by Rs 2 at Rs 408. HDFC and HDFC Bank have taken a beating, moving against the trend at Rs 782 and Rs 572, both dwon Rs 2. |
