Sensex sheds 140pts; ITC, Hindalco lead fall

The Sensex is now down 140 points to 13,875.

Hindalco and ITC have plunged around 3.5% each to Rs 174 and Rs 169, respectively.

Hero Honda has tumbled 2.7% to Rs 757. HDFC Bank has slipped 2.3% to Rs 1,041, and HDFC has shed 2% to Rs 1,575.

Wipro and Satyam have dropped 1.7% each to Rs 609 and Rs 507, respectively.

TCS, Infosys and Cipla are down around 1.5% each at Rs 1,262, Rs 2,280 and Rs 254, respectively.

Dr.Reddy's has rallied nearly 2% to Rs 823. Larsen & Toubro and Reliance Energy are up around 1% each at Rs 1,494 and Rs 530, respectively.

Out of 2,574 stocks traded so far, 1,487 have advanced, 1,001 have declined and 86 are unchanged.
