Sensex sheds 142pts; breadth still +ve

The Sensex is now down 142 points to 13,872.

Hindalco and ITC have plunged 3.5% each to Rs 174 and Rs 169, respectively.

Hero Honda has tumbled nearly 3% to Rs 756. HDFC Bank and TCS have shed around 2% each to Rs 1,043 and Rs 1,256, respectively.

HDFC and Grasim have dropped 1.7% each to Rs 1,575 and Rs 2,791, respectively.

Satyam, Reliance Communications and Wipro are down around 1.5% each to Rs 507, Rs 466 and Rs 611, respectively.

Dr.Reddy's has gained 1.7% at Rs 822. Larsen & Toubro and Reliance Energy are up 1% each at Rs 1,492 and Rs 531, respectively.

Out of 2,550 stocks traded so far, 1,482 have advanced, 986 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
