Sensex slips 122pts; Power index major laggard

The Sensex slipped to a  low of 14,665 and the index is now 122 points down at 14,719.

The BSE Power, Bankex, Oil&Gas and Realty indices are the major laggards so far.

The Mid-and Small cap have slipped 0.5% each to 5,177 and 6,113, respectively.

Sterlite has soared 3% to Rs 685. Mahindra & Mahindra and Tata Steel have added 1.5% each at Rs 723 and Rs 445, respectively.

TCS and Tata Motors were up 1% each at Rs 707 and Rs 342, respectively.

Reliance Infrastructure has slumped around 6% at Rs 1,226. Ranbaxy and Jaiprakash Associates have slipped 5% each to Rs 261 and Rs 210, respectively.

 

NTPC and HDFC Bank have dropped 3% each to Rs 222 and Rs 1,388, respectively.

ACC and SBI have declined over 2.5% each to Rs 810 and Rs 1,831, respectively.

Reliance Communications, Hindalco, Reliance, Tata Power and ONGC are down 1-2.5% each.

The market breadth remains negative, out of 2,702 shares traded, 1,351 have declined, 1,277 have advanced and 74 are unchanged on the BSE so far.
