Sensex slips 52pts; HDFC drops 2%

The Sensex is now down 52 points at 14,351.

Grasim, HDFC and Maruti have slipped around 2% each to Rs 2,590, Rs 1,685 and Rs 897, respectively.

Reliance Communications has shed 1.8% to Rs 455. ONGC, Tata Motors and Gujarat Ambuja have declined around 1.5% each to Rs 891, Rs 855 and Rs 131, respectively.

SBI and ICICI Bank are down over 1% each to Rs 1,118 and Rs 967, respectively.

Ranbaxy has advanced over 1% to Rs 396. ITC and Reliance are the other major gainers.

Out of 2,549 stocks traded, 1,691 have declined, 786 have advanced and 72 are unchanged.
