Sensex slips 73pts; Hero, Ranbaxy tumble

The Sensex is now down 73 points at 14,089.

Hero Honda and Ranbaxy have tumbled 3.5% each to Rs 656 and Rs 361, respectively.

TCS has dropped nearl 2% to Rs 1,163. Wipro and Satyam have slipped 1.4% each to Rs 523 and Rs 477, respectively.

HDFC Bank, Tata Steel, BHEL, Bajaj Auto and Infosys are down 1% each to Rs 1,095, Rs 593, Rs 1,374, Rs 2,086 and Rs 1,990, respectively.

ICICI Bank and ONGC have gained 1% each at Rs 918 and Rs 892, respectively. Hindalco is the other prominent gainer.

The market breadth has turned negative - out of 2,560 stocks traded so far, 1,359 have declined, 1,129 have declined and 72 are unchanged.
