Sensex slips after touching new peak

The Sensex opened 13 points higher at 10,748. The index touched a new all-time intra-day high of 10,753 and then slipped into negative zone to a low of 10,701. The index is now down 21 points at 10,714.

Cipla has surged over 3% to Rs 580.

HLL has rallied 2.7% to Rs 250.

NTPC, Larsen & Toubro, Bajaj Auto and Bharti Tele have spurted over 1% each to Rs 138, Rs 2,440, Rs 2,755 and Rs 408, respectively.

HDFC Bank, Satyam and Hindalco have slipped over 1% each to Rs 751, Rs 792 and Rs 165, respectively.
