Sensex slips again; DLF, M&M up 5%

The Sensex has slipped back to lower levels and is now down 135 points at 9,484.

Ranbaxy has plunged 3.3% to Rs 214, and Infosys has shed 3% at Rs 1,264.

Maruti has dropped 2.6% to Rs 616. Jaiprakash Associates, Bharti Airtel, ONGC and ICICI Bank have slipped around 2% each to Rs 75, Rs 660, Rs 693 and Rs 427, respectively.

Sterlite, BHEL and Tatat Power are down around 1.5% each to Rs 270, Rs 1,428 and Rs 797, respectively.

DLF and Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) have rallied nearly 5% each to Rs 158 and Rs 294, respectively.

Reliance Infrastructure has gained 2.3% at Rs 554. Tata Motors and Reliance Communications are up 1% each at Rs 137 and Rs 175, respectively.

 

The market breadth is fairly positive - out of 2,307 stocks traded so far, 1,377 have advanced, 820 have declined and 110 are unchanged.
