Sensex slips again, now down 70pts

After rebounding into green in late morning trades, the Sensex has now slipped back into red. The index tumbled all from a high of 12,184, to a low of 11,986 just ahead of noon.

The index is now down 71 points at 12,064.

DLF has surged 4.5% to Rs 244. Tata Motors and ICICI Bank have rallied 4% each to Rs 268 and Rs 550, respectively.

Tata Steel and Ranbaxy have advanced 3.5% to Rs 273 and Rs 177, respectively. Reliance Communications , BHEL and Reliance Infrastructure have gained 2% each.

Maruti Suzuki, Tata Power, Jaiprakash Associates and Larsen & Toubro are the other top gainers.

On the other hand, HDFC has slumped 4.5% to Rs 1,872. Infosys and Mahindra & Mahindra have shed 4% each to Rs 1,562 and Rs 529, respectively.

ITC has declined 3% to Rs 200. Wipro, Bharti Airtel, TCS, Reliance and Hindalco have dropped 2% each.

The market breadth is fairly positive. Out of 2,350 stocks traded, 1,316 have advanced while 935 have declined.
