A sudden bout of selling has forced the Sensex slip back into the negative zone. The index is now down 148 points at 12,010.

The Sensex has rebounded and is now up 65 points at 12,223.
Earlier in the day, the market had opened up 44 points at 12,202. Weaknes in late morning trades saw the index slip to a low of 11,934. The index, however, rebounded into the positie zone and touched a high of 12,256, up 322 points from the day's low.
HDFC has surged 5% to Rs 1,938. ACC and Grasim have gained 4% each at Rs 620 and Rs 1,840, respectively. Bharti Airtel, Wipro and Hindalco have rallied 3% each.
Reliance Infrastructure, BHEL, DLF, Larsen & Toubro, Tata Motors, Jaiprakash Associates and ICICI Bank have advanced 1-2% each.
On the other hand, Sterlite has shed 2.5% at Rs 481. HDFC Bank and ONGC have slipped 2% each to Rs 1,164 and Rs 865, respectively.
Tata Steel, SBI, Maruti Suzuki and Ranbaxy are the other major losers.
The market breadth continues to be positive. Out of 2,486 shares traded, 1,354 have advanced while 1,019 have declined.
