The Nifty is down 195 points at 3,898.
Reliance Infrastruture has slumped 10.3% to Rs 709. Tata Steel has plunged 9.7% to Rs 669.
ICICI Bank has tumbled 8.7% to Rs 569, and DFL has shed 8.3% at Rs 389.
HDFC has slipped 6.7% to Rs 1,902. Grasim and Tata Motors have dropped 6% each to Rs 1,668 and Rs 389, respectively.
Reliance Communications has slipped 5.5% to Rs 395. Bharti Airtel, Jaiprakash Associates and Reliance have declined over 5% each to Rs 706, Rs 137 and Rs 2,033, respectively.
Ambuja Cements, TCS and BHEL are also down around 5% each at Rs 72, Rs 834 and Rs 1,357, respectively.
Out of 2,386 stocks traded so far, 1,763 have declined, 566 have advanced and 57 are unchanged.
