A fresh round of selling in the market has dragged the Sensex below the psyschological 14,000-mark in mid-noon trades. The index is now down 114 points at 13,970. Satyam has plunged over 4% to Rs 477. Hindalco has tumbled over 3% to Rs 156. Reliance Communications has shed 2.5% to Rs 492. Dr.Reddy's and Tata Motors have dropped 2% each to Rs 612 and Rs 639, respectively. Cipla, SBI and HDFC Bank have declined around 1.5% each to Rs 208, Rs 1,319 and Rs 1,083, respectively. NTPC and Wipro are down over 1% each at Rs 153 and Rs 536, respectively. ACC has surged 2% to Rs 779, and Tata Steel has spurted over 1% to Rs 586. Out of 2,434 stocks traded so far, 1,688 have declined, 667 have advanced and 79 are unchanged. |
