Sensex slips deeper; breadth marginally +ve

The NSE Nifty is down 36 points at 4,441.

TCS has slumped 6.5% to Rs 802. Tata Steel has plunged 5.5% to Rs 631.

Infosys and SBI have tumbled around 5% each to Rs 1,523 and Rs 1,468, respectively.

Satyam and Reliance Communications have shed 3.5% each at Rs 365 and Rs 507, respectively.

BHEL has slipped 2.7% to Rs 1,724, and Cipla has declined 2.5% to Rs 227.

NTPC and Larsen & Toubro are down 2% each at Rs 186 and Rs 2,710, respectively. Hindustan Unilever is down .7% at Rs 227.

DLF and Reliance Infrastructure have surged around 3.5% each to Rs 512 and Rs 1,051, respectively.

 

Maruti has rallied 3% to Rs 1,015. Reliance has advanced 1.7% to Rs 2,305, and Tata Motors has added 1.5% to Rs 444.

The market breadth is marginally positive - out of 2,520 stocks traded so far, 1,303 have moved up, 1,151 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
