Sensex slips deeper into red, down 273pts

The Sensex has slipeed deeper into red and is now down 273 points at 14,051.

The Sensex is now down 190 points at 14,134.

Infosys has slumped 5% to Rs 1,661. Satyam and ICICI Bank have plunged around 3% each to Rs 408 and Rs 667, respectively.

HDFC has shed 2.7% at Rs 2,206. TCS, DLF, Mahindra & Mahindra and Reliance Infrastructure have dropped around 2% each to Rs 819, Rs 475, Rs 552 and Rs 973, respectively.

Grasim has slipped 1.5% to Rs 1,989. Wipro, Reliance and Jaiprakash Associates are down 1.3% each at Rs 421, Rs 1,972 and Rs 160, respectively.

 

BHEL has surged 3.4% to Rs 1,721, and Maruti has rallied 3% to Rs 700.

NTPC has moved up 1.3% to Rs 176, and Tata Power has added 1% to Rs 1,023.

Out of 2,578 stocks traded so far, 1,426 have declined, 1,065 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
