Sensex slips deeper into red, down 52pts

The Sensex has slipped deeper into red and is now down 52 points at 11,451.

HDFC has declined over 2% to Rs 1,290. Cipla has dropped 1.5% to Rs 248.

SBI, Ranbaxy and Grasim have slipped 1% each to Rs 869, Rs 388 and Rs 2,202, respectively.

HDFC Bank, Bajaj Auto, ONGC and Maruti are the other prominent losers.

Reliance Energy has spurted over 1% to Rs 466. NTPC and Dr.Reddy's and the other notable gainers.

The market breadth is positive - out of 2,062 stocks traded so far, 1,073 have advanced, 923 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
