Sensex slips, down 26pts

The Sensex has slipped into the negative zone and is now down 26 points at 14,178.

BHEL has surged 3% to Rs 1,390. Larsen & Toubro, Maruti and Reliance Energy have rallied around 1.5% each to Rs 1,954, Rs 740 and Rs 535, respectively.

Tata Motors, Ranbaxy, SBI and HDFC Bank have moved up 1.3% each to Rs 651, Rs 375, Rs 1,331 and Rs 1,112, respectively.

HDFC and NTPC have dropped 1.8% each to Rs 1,792 and Rs 151, respectively. Tata Steel has shed 1.7% to Rs 604.

Satyam, Grasim and TCS have slipped 1.3% each to Rs 484, Rs 2,400 and Rs 1,188, respectively.

Out of 2,528 stocks traded so far, 1,362 have advanced, 1,079 have declined and 87 are unchanged.
