Sensex slips in red, down five points

The Sensex has slipped back into the negative zone and is now down five points at 9880. Earlier, the index had rallied to a high of 9966 - up 211 points from the day's low of 9755.

Tata Motors has gained 4.7% to Rs 760. Maruti, Tata Steel, Cipla, and Grasim have moved up 3% each to Rs 750, Rs 476, Rs 217, Rs 1,807, respectively.

Larsen & Toubro has shed 3.6% to Rs 2,038. SBI, Wipro and Bharti Airtel are the other prominent losers among the Sensex stocks.

Out of 2,323 stocks traded so far, 1,432 have advanced, 825 have declined and 66 are unchanged.
