Sensex slips in red, market breadth turns -ve

The Sensex has slipped into the negative zone and is now down 7 points at 11,700.

Ranbaxy and HDFC have advanced over 1.5% each to Rs 402 and Rs 1,310, respectively.

Dr.Reddy's and Wipro have added 1.3% each to Rs 721 and Rs 532, respectively.

Tata Motors has gained 1% at Rs 854. Maruti and HLL are the other smart gainers.

NTPC has slipped 1.5% to Rs 125. Tata Steel, Cipla and Reliance Communications are down around 1% each at Rs 512, Rs 246 and Rs 306, respectively.

The market breadth has turned negative - out of 1,958 stocks traded so far, 961 have declined, 934 have advanced and 63 are unchanged.
