Sensex slips into red, down 34pts

The Sensex has opened at 11,358, up 73 points from the previous close. The index is now down 34 points at 11,250.

Hindalco has soared 5% to Rs 65. Reliance Communications, Tata Motors and DLF have surged 4% each to Rs 239, Rs 292 and Rs 266, respectively.

ICICI Bank and Jaiprakash Associates have rallied 3% each to Rs 458 and Rs 126.

Grasim, ACC, Reliance Infrastructure, SBI, NTPC, Mahindra & Mahindra, Larsen & Toubro, Bharti Airtel, Maruti Suzuki, HDFC, HDFC Bank, Sun Pharma, Tata Power and Tata Steel have gone up 1-2% each.

However, Ranbaxy Laboratories has declined 2.5% to Rs 195. Infosys and Reliance  are down 2% each at Rs 1,345 and Rs 1,794, respectively.

 

Sterlite, ONGC, Wipro and ITC have also declined.
