Sensex slips into red, down 38pts

The Sensex opened with a positive gap of 47 points at 14,690. The index touched a high of 14,698, and then slipped into red.

The index is now down 38 points at 14,605.

HDFC Bank has moved up 1.6% to Rs 1,118. Cipla, ITC, Hindalco and Tata Motors have advanced over 1% each to Rs 260, Rs 178, Rs 184 and Rs 911, respectively.

HDFC has slipped over 1% to Rs 1,778.
