Sensex slips into red, down 42pts

The Sensex today opened 51 points higher at 14,816. It touched a high of 14,832. However, it slipped into the red and touched a low of 14,722.

The index is now down 42 points at 14,723.

Tata Motors and Sun Pharma have shed 4.5% each to Rs 325 and Rs 1,090, respectively.

HDFC has slipped 2% to Rs 2,387. Jaiprakash Associates, Larsen & Toubro and Grasim have dropped around 1% each.

DLF and Sterlite have added 2.5% each to Rs 333 and Rs 626, respectively. HDFC Bank and ONGC have also moved up.
