Sensex slips into red, down 46pts

The Sensex has slipped into the negative zone and is now down 46 points at 12,856.

Updated at 1240 hrs: The Sensex is now up 12 points at 12,914.

ACC has gained 1.7% at Rs 760. Gujarat Ambuja has added 1.5% to Rs 107.

Tata Steel, HDFC, Satyam and TCS are up over 1% each at Rs 441, Rs 1,603, Rs 447 and Rs 1,250, respectively.

HLL has shed 2% to Rs 181. Ranbaxy and Bharti Airtel are down over 1% each to Rs 320 and Rs 761, respectively.

Out of 2,313 stocks traded so far, 1,582 have advanced, 664 have declined and 67 are unchanged.
