Sensex slips into red, down 54pts; L&T up 3%

The Sensex touched a fresh all-time intra-day high of 18,780, and has slipped into the negative zone. The index is now down 54 points at 18,604.

Larsen & Toubro has surged 3% to Rs 3,475. Mahindra & Mahindra has rallied over 2% to Rs 773.

Tata Steel has moved up 1.7% to Rs 860. HDFC Bank, Maruti, Hindalco and ITC have gained around 1.5% each to Rs 1,442, Rs 1,118, Rs 173 and Rs 187, respectively.

BHEL, ONGC and Cipla have advanced 1.3% each to Rs 2,363, Rs 1,023 and Rs 196, respectively.

Infosys has plunged over 5% to Rs 2,012. TCS and Satyam have dropped 2.5% each to Rs 1,097 and Rs 472, respectively. Wipro has slipped over 2% to Rs 492.
