Sensex slips into red, down 94pts

The Sensex opened with a positive gap of 152 points at 19,553, and touched a high of 19,678. However, profit taking at higher levels has forced the index slip into red.

The index is now down 94 points at 19,307.

Infosys has plunged nearly 4% to Rs 1,780. Satyam has tumbled over 3% to Rs 439.

Bharti Airtel, Dr.Reddy's, Hindustan Unilever, Reliance Communications, Reliance Energy and TCS have slipped 1-2% each to Rs 905, Rs 605, Rs 192, Rs 730, Rs 1,812 and Rs 994, respectively.

ONGC has soared 3% to Rs 1,338. Bharti Airtel has gained 2.6% at Rs 905.

Ambuja Cements, Grasim, HDFC Bank, ITC, ICICI Bank, Mahindra & Mahindra, NTPC, Reliance and Tata Steel are up 1-2% each at Rs 147, Rs 3,690, Rs 1,722, Rs 175, Rs 1,253, Rs 749, Rs 242, Rs 2,701 and Rs 869, respectively.
