Sensex slips into red; REL drops 2%

The Sensex has slipped into the negative zone and touched a low of 10,844. The index is now down six points at 10,873.

ONGC has gained 2.6% at Rs 1,222.

Tata Motors has rallied 1.7% to Rs 935. Hindalco and ITC are up 1.6% each at Rs 159 and Rs 177, respectively.

Grasim is up 1% at Rs 1,915.

Reliance Energy has dropped 2% to Rs 639.

Bharti, Larsen & Toubro, Satyam and Tata Steel are down nearly 2% each.

Tata Power, HLL, Infosys, Gujarat Ambuja and HDFC Bank have also declined over 1% each.

Out of 2,603 stocks traded so far, 1,793 have declined, 740 have advanced and 70 are unchanged.
