Sensex slumps 252pts

The Sensex has tumbled to lower levels and is now down 252 points at 9961.

Reliance Energy has plunged over 6% to Rs 431. Larsen & Toubro and ONGC have dropped around 5.5% each to Rs 2,139 and Rs 1,043, respectively.

Hindalco and Ranbaxy are down 5% each at Rs 162 and Rs 391, respectively.

SBI has rallied 3.7% to Rs 845, and ICICI Bank is up over 1% at Rs 544.

Out of 2,437 stocks traded so far, 2,069 have declined, 341 have advanced and 27 are unchanged.
