Sensex soars 123pts

The Sensex is now up 123 points at 13,406.

NTPC has surged 5.5% to Rs 138. Reliance Communications, HDFC and Bharti Airtel have rallied 3% each to Rs 403, Rs 1,541 and Rs 560, respectively.

Reliance Energy has gained 2.5% each at Rs 534. Tata Motors and Gujarat Ambuja have advanced nearly 2% each to Rs 834 and Rs 137, respectively.

Hero Honda and Hindalco have slipped 1.3% each to Rs 716 and Rs 182, respectively. ONGC and Tata Steel are down 1% each at Rs 870 and Rs 498, respectively.

Out of 2,613 stocks traded so far, 1,465 have advanced, 1,080 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
