Sensex soars 167pts; Tata Steel surges 3%

The Sensex is now up 167 points at 13,949.

Tata Steel has surged 2.5% to Rs 576. Bajaj Auto and ONGC have rallied 2.2% each to Rs 2,622 and Rs 929, respectively.

Wirpo and Satyam have advanced nearly 2% each to Rs 560 and Rs 461, respectively. HDFC and Reliance Communications moved up 1.7% each to Rs 1,623 and Rs 471, respectively.

TCS, HLL and HDFC Bank are up over 1% each at Rs 1,253, Rs 193 and Rs 1,008, respectively.
