Sensex soars 207pts; BSE Bankex up 2.4%

The Sensex rallied to a high of 11,756, and is now up 207 points at 11,747.

The BSE Bankex has rallied 2.4% to 5330. The Teck, FMCG and Healthcare indices are up 2% each at 2818, 2243 and 3952, respectively.

TCS has surged 6.5% to Rs 2,029. Cipla has rallied 4.5% to Rs 690, and ONGC is up 4% at Rs 1,292.

Dr.Reddy's has gained over 3% to Rs 1,514. Larsen & Toubro has advanced 2.7% to Rs 2,608, and ITC has advanced over 2% to Rs 197.

HDFC Bank has moved up 2.4% to Rs 835. SBI has added 2.3% to Rs 954.

The market breadth continues to remain positive. Out of 2,332 stocks traded so far, 1565 have moved up, 706 have declined and 61 are unchanged.
