Sensex soars 249pts; ICICI, Guj Amb surge

The Sensex is now up 249 points at 13,430.

ICICI Bank and Gujarat Ambuja have surged around 4.5% each to Rs 867 and Rs 140, respectively. Reliance Communications has gained 3.7% at Rs 449.

HDFC has advanced over 3% to Rs 1,548. NTPC and Reliance Energy have moved up nearly 3% each to Rs 144 and Rs 530, respectively.

Grasim, Bharti Airtel, ONGC and Satyam are up over 2% each.

HLL has slipped over 1% to Rs 217.

Out of 2,438 stocks traded so far, 1,955 have advanced, 427 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
