Sensex soars 256pts; RIL, Rel Comm surge

The Sensex is now up 256 points at 13,876.

Satyam has soared over 6% to Rs 476. HDFC and Reliance Communications have surged 4.5% each to Rs 1,634 and Rs 454, respectively.

Tata Steel has rallied nearly 3% to Rs 520. Gujarat Ambuja, Reliance and BHEL have gained around 2.5% each at Rs 117, Rs 1,532 and Rs 2,565, respectively.

Tata Motors, ONGC and ACC have advanced around 2% each to Rs 729, Rs 914 and Rs 803, respectively.

Out of 2,419 stocks traded so far, 1,626 have advanced, 712 have declined and 81 are unchanged.
