Sensex soars 270pts; HDFC surges 4%

The Sensex is now up 270 points at 13,889.

Satyam has soared over 6% to Rs 475. HDFC has surged over 4% to Rs 1,629. Reliance Communications has rallied 3.6% to Rs 451.

Tata Steel, Gujarat Ambuja and BHEL have gained around 2.5% each at Rs 518, Rs 116 and Rs 2,564, respectively.

HDFC Bank, ACC, ONGC and Tata Motors have advanced over 2% each to Rs 1,005, Rs 806, Rs 915 and Rs 728, respectively.

Out of 2,326 stocks traded so far, 1,637 have advanced, 630 have declined and 59 are unchanged.
