Sensex soars 290pts; breadth extremely +ve

The Sensex is now up 290 points at 13,236.

BHEL has soared nearly 6% to Rs 2,223. HLL and Maruti have rallied 4% each to Rs 198 and Rs 823, respectivey.

ONGC, Larsen & Toubro and HDFC Bank have surged over 3% each to Rs 840, Rs 1,552 and Rs 997, respectively.

SBI has advanced nearly 3% to Rs 1,010. Tata Motors and Bajaj Auto have added 2.7% each to Rs 797 and Rs 2,565, respectively.

ICICI Bank, ITC, TCS, Hero Honda, Tata Steel, Reliance, Wipro, Reliance Communications, Satyam, Dr.Reddy's and Bharti Airtel have gained around 2% each.

The market breadth is extremely positive - out of 2,214 stocks traded so far, 1,577 have advanced, 576 have declined and 61 are unchanged.
